Back in November we welcomed 20 young creative minds through the doors of our London HQ to kick off New Blood Shift.
An intensive 3-month night school programme in partnership with D&AD and our client partner Formula E, Shift is geared towards encouraging young creatives from non-traditional advertising backgrounds to break into the industry.
January saw the students return to Iris for the final time, marking the culmination of 3 months of hard graft with a creative showcase and pitch evening overseen by panel of Iris and Formula E judges.
Blown away by the sheer effort, energy and determination brought to the table by all the students, the judges chose to award a joint 1st place, both teams earning themselves a trip to watch the Paris E-Prix this April courtesy of Formula E.
Looking to the future…
In addition to our first-place prize, we’re delighted to announce that over the next few months we’ll be welcoming on board the top 3 teams from the initiative, each for a 4-week paid placement programme at Iris*.
Devised to fully immerse the teams in agency life, the programme will expose them to our full breadth of disciplines as well as incorporating 1-2-1 career development sessions, equipping them with the tools required for a future in advertising.
The first of our Iris x New Blood placements begins this week, keep your eyes on our social channels for updates on this, as well as our trip to the 2019 Paris E-Prix in April.
If you’d like to hear more about the Shift programme please get in touch.
*In accordance with the Young Creative Council’s Placement Poverty Pledge we solemnly swear to pay our interns the current Living Wage (at least £10.55 per hour in London and £9 across the UK). We will pay them a freelance rate of £100 a day after 3 months of service.
