This year we had the opportunity to work with and support the Creative Equals Disabled Creatives UK 2023 - an industry first initiative, championing disabled and neurodivergent people in the creative industry. It was our pleasure to donate our event space and have two of our brilliant creatives as mentors, Andrew Hadley (link to their LinkedIn accounts) and Matt Pickles.
With just over 14.6 million disabled people in the UK and more than one in five of us will be affected by disability at some point in our lives. Action is needed more than ever, as we know there is chronic underinvestment in disabled talent, and this programme sets the standard for global talent regeneration and championing disabled talent by providing the tools, knowledge and support to develop individuals in creative fields and bridges into creative employment.
The programme has been designed in collaboration with Creative Equals' partners, including disability equality charity Scope, Valuable 500 and ThisAbility Limited, training provided by D&AD and sponsored by Diageo.
