How the authenticity helped FlixTrain engage with their consumers

Low-cost, long distance railway service provider, FlixTrain, faced a significant challenge – breaking through the booking routine of established competitors in the train travel markets of Germany and Sweden.

Both living the challenger mindset, FlixTrain and Iris capitalised on this opportunity to bring FlixTrain's progressive character to light. We highlighted the seamlessness of the app-based service, the affordability of the FlixTrain experience, and the fact that all trains are powered by 100% green energy. We crafted key messages to clearly position the brand against established competitors and expand its appeal to a wider travel segment.

To involve and empower people, we implemented a cross-channel approach that combined classic advertising, OOH, TV, CRM, digital, and social media.
We leveraged the campaign's central slogan "Flix it!" to develop entry points that emphasised
FlixTrain's winning formula of being the perfect solution to classic train travel pain points.

Our two TV commercials, along with supporting cutdowns, OOH assets, digital and social media content, launched on June 14, 2021. Through this integrated approach, we were able to effectively reach and engage with FlixTrain's target audience, breaking through the booking routine of established competitors.
